Peach State says: Isn’t That Grand!?
What an incredible view I was able to share with my hubby and youngest! It was our first time at the Grand Canyon and I have to admit I was in awe! Pictures don’t do it justice! “Isn’t That Grand!?” Every nook and cranny was a revolving door of shadow and light. The flow of the clouds danced along the peaks and layers providing photographers multiple chances to catch the perfect shot. “If I may state for the record…There is no way a person can take a bad picture of the Grand Canyon.”
It is important to share with you that you may need to have a designated non-photographer in your group. This way you can move around and not worry about running into others taking the same picture. Small groups of visitors moved around in the same familiar state…Phones and tripods with multiple lenses all focused on the amazing sight. Selfies and groups with an ever changing backdrop scattered along the rocky and uneven edge of the South Rim. There were a few photo enthusiasts who dared to attempt the best phot on the edge. I spoke with them…the title of their picture was “Giving Birth to the World!” I won’t tell you what the pose was…you have already let your mind run with the thought. “You should probably stop before you embarrass me as well as yourself.”
The weather on this beautiful day was chilly-windy-glad-I-had-my-thermal-shirt-and-sweatshirt day. The wind was sustained winds between 25-30 mph with temperatures in the lower to mid 50’s. “BURR!!!”
I had seen documentaries about the Grand Canyon and knew about the clouds flowing over the edge. I have a few others with the varied depth of flow. But, I knew there was a chance of wintry mix and with the cloudy overcast skies moving in we decided to leave this overwhelming and heart fluttering place. I am, as you know, a weather watcher and a prepared mama…just wait!
As we were strolling along the path, toward the car, a wonder sentiment burst in my direction …”War Eagle!” I smiled and replied “War Eagle” and kept moving. My hubby asked how he knew I was an Auburn fan…I just laughed and said “Honey I do have my Auburn strap on my glasses and a perfect shade of orange sweatshirt. We recognize each other!” He simply shook his head. Auburn fans are everywhere!
As we said goodbye to the Grand Canyon and drove out of the park, with the heat on, we were privileged to see a group of elk.Sorry for the blur…hubby was driving a bit over the speed limit.
I have more to share but don’t want to overload you with my unedited pictures. I will do my best to give you a beautiful insight into our vacation! Till then…
Coffee is my _______! Fill it in!

Peach State says:Fuzzy Socks and Oversized Fuzzy Sweater
I love these cooler temperatures! I love wearing my Fuzzy Socks and Oversized Fuzzy Sweater and not being looked at like I am crazy!
Of course…running a fever over 100 could be contributing to the wearing of the fluffy, fuzzy wardrobe accessories. Good thing I have a doctors appointment today and even better that I have plenty of Fuzzy Socks!
Bring on the cooler temperatures…I am ready! Cough, cough!
Hey!…seeings how I am sick with the lost-voice-cough-congested-chills-hurts-to-swallow yuck now maybe I will be spared during the Winter! Hehe! The Weather is supposed to be milder again this Winter…so we will see!
Have a great day!

Peach State says: Dark Sky…No Rain!
There it was…This is a pic of the dark and ominous view as I crested the hill Tuesday morning. I was taking my 19 year old to his painting job and saw the incredible sight. I was so excited as the possibilities flooded my weary brain. Music playing throughout the house, a few lamps turned on to provide cozy light and warmth…but alas…
Dark Sky…No Rain!
This one was taken to show the visible wave-like movement in the body of this massive front.
It was dark most of the day…
Just thought I would share…
I have completed my minor chores already today and have plans to sweep along with, as someone close to me would say, some down-on-your-knees-nitty-gritty-corner-scraping-base-board cleaning. Until that part of the day…Coffee comes first and, of course, waiting for my 19 year old to get ready so I can drop him off for work today. “A mom’s work _______!” HeHe…you understand! Have a great day!

Peach State says: The Weather Tease
The moment I stepped outside, on my way to choir practice, the humid heaviness enveloped me. Being a fan of stormy weather I instinctively looked up to see a few spotty clouds wisping lazily across the sky. I got into the car and drove up the hill and turned into the connecting subdivision and headed to the main road. The trees cleared and I saw it…a dark ominous presence in the form of a rain cloud was right over where I was going. I had only one thought…I need to beat the rain!
When I arrived at church the darkness was stretching it’s threat across the sky. The slight thundering rumble with silent soft flashes of lightning excited my senses. Yet, as I walked out after practice, Not one drop…nothing…It was The Weather Tease!
Later, about 11:40, I went to let my Precious Princess out for her nightly duty. I heard the rumble of thunder and waited. A soft glow lit up the night sky and showed me another system was almost overhead. I was doing the dance of joy, internally of course, at the thought of falling asleep to the storm. Crawling in bed with an anticipative ear…I waited…and waited! Absolutely nothing! It just fizzled and like before was such a tease. There is a chance of a stray thunderstorm this afternoon and tonight…Stray? Did the thunderstorm get lost? My only hope may lie in tomorrow’s forecast…but we all know that could change. The only thing constant about the forecast is the heat, humidity and The Weather Tease!
How is your weather? Do you love stormy weather? Let me know. Have a great day!

Peach State says: It’s Just Another Day!
That ticking clock stops for no man…
The news dishes out the headlines filled with sadness and strife.
Facebook notifications continue as those we know keep us up to date on the trips to the doctor and to the beach.
The weather brings in dark cloud cover and refreshes the browning grass and wilting plants.
Yep! It’s Just Another Day!
I guess I should be happy…
It is Friday and the weekend cometh.
There is only a week and a half until school starts back.
I am still receiving Facebook notifications.
Because of the rain I will not have to water the plants by going back and forth from the sink to the deck.
It is really all about how we look at things. Perception! It is not just another day…It is another day we are breathing and functioning. It is a day we have our family and friends around us. So enjoy yours and I will enjoy mine! Make it wonderful for those around you and it will be wonderful for you!
Have a great day!
