The sound of the lightly falling rain, in it’s on again off again dance, mixed with the sound of chirps and tweets. The gentle dripping sound as the raindrops weigh down the lush green leaves and collectively flow to the next leaf in it’s journey to the ground. Then, in the midst of the the relaxing spa soundscape, a crashing swoosh of pelting drops and scurrying varmints. Picture this…the squirrels are jumping from branch to branch shaking every leaf. It is shaping up to be a blissful “Noisy Morning” complete with a set of rain sticks rotating like an hour glass.
I need more coffee to enjoy this properly.
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous cup of coffee!”
The day has finally arrived…everything is packed…car is cleaned out…I am on my way…
“Well in about 25 minutes!”
Rain, Rain, Stay Away…I am going to enjoy myself today!
“I better make sure my rain gear is still in the car.”
Sorry for the short-undetailed post…but I must put my face on! I wouldn’t want to scare anyone.
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
It’s the second day of my son’s Winter Break…Yea!
A glorious five days of doing the normal while working my schedule around the presence of my 12 year old. I usually do not plan any appointments for this weeks because of the children being out of school….BUT….some things could not be helped. When my sons were younger we would do something different and fun each day. They would help plan the week! Yet…my youngest prefers to do nothing! He just stares, sits, rocks back and forth, and refuses to use his imagination to creatively preoccupy himself. He could be outside… playing with friends or shooting hoops…but noooooo! “In his defense it is raining today.”
I wake up bright-eyed and bushy tailed, ready to face the day. He…well he mumbles and sits hunched over. When asked what he wanted to do he just shrugged his shoulders.
It is going to be a wonderful week!
Well I am going to go to the dry-cleaner and to the bank…come home for lunch and get ready for my doctor’s appointment. Then the Fire Marshall will be here for another visit with my youngest. I will prepare dinner early in hopes of my hubby getting off early as scheduled.
Have a great day!
It started out just like any other day-after-Christmas here in Georgia except for the fact of the severe-wind-warning and the dropping temperatures. Well here we go…out to accomplish the impossible…an exchange at the local open mall…“Not that impossible!” The exchange was not accomplished due to the store sold out of the specific item wanted and the truck is not coming until tomorrow. So out the door I go realizing the temperature had dropped in the short time I was in the store. I checked my weather app and got a surprised…three degrees colder.
Once on the road the sprinkles of rain began to hit my windshield in that unique pre-icy way. My bones shook…my stomach craved a big bowl of windy-day-comfort-food.. I arrived at my next stop on my list and stepped out of the car. There it was…SNOW!…well it was spitting the tiny-minuscule-microscopic-bits-of-icy-white-stuff. Now that I am home and warm…I have only one thing to say…Let It Snow!!!
I could stand to see some of the soft-fluffy-bits-of-heaven just about now, as I finish out the holidays, but I will share more about that next week.
I will put my feet up and enjoy a lovely cup of Dark Chocolate with a shot ( or three) of espresso in the mix. Do you want some? Let me know no I will make one for you!
Have a great day!
There it was…This is a pic of the dark and ominous view as I crested the hill Tuesday morning. I was taking my 19 year old to his painting job and saw the incredible sight. I was so excited as the possibilities flooded my weary brain. Music playing throughout the house, a few lamps turned on to provide cozy light and warmth…but alas…
Dark Sky…No Rain!
Just thought I would share…
I have completed my minor chores already today and have plans to sweep along with, as someone close to me would say, some down-on-your-knees-nitty-gritty-corner-scraping-base-board cleaning. Until that part of the day…Coffee comes first and, of course, waiting for my 19 year old to get ready so I can drop him off for work today. “A mom’s work _______!” HeHe…you understand! Have a great day!
My skin tingles in the cooled morning air
Standing alone in the dark.
The light gentle breeze does it’s share
Wiping the collected drop from it’s mark.
The rain paused as clouds pass over
The welcoming thirsty earth.
Refreshed are delicate blooms and clover
Enjoying a moistened drink and rebirth.
Normal chores and relaxing…not scheduled today
But time with dear friends.
A smile and laugh and loving hugs will say
All troubles God has hold and attends.
There may be drops of rain from their eyes
Wiped away by love.
Standing strong together our friendship binds
A love brought together from above.
The rain will likely return until dark
Graying the sky.
But this time with those held close to my heart
Are bonds no one can untie.
I wrote this today while preparing for a trip to the hospital for a follow-up surgery of my dear friend’s daughter. She is 6 years old and is having a bone implant grafted onto her skull. She had a surgery earlier this year to remove a growth and it went very well…I know this is routine but so is the anxiety of this procedure. Please remember her today. Her surgery is at 8:30 this morning…EST.
I am off to get ready to leave…Have a great day!
There I was…walking along the warm sandy beach…the gentle cascading waves rolling across my feet and my ankles. What time is it? My alarm…NOOOO! I was dreaming! I woke up and came downstairs with my eyes half closed and walked into the kitchen for my coffee. Rain! What Do You Mean Rain!
Have a great day!
A melody plays, a peppy tune,
Alerting you to the new day.
What? Already? It’s to soon!
Hey! Welcome to Friday!
Up, Up and Away you go,
To set your day in motion.
Hazy, Sleepy, moving slow!
Coffee! What a notion!
Things to do, people to see.
The days begins to take shape.
Dark, rainy, sip on coffee!
It’s Friday for goodness sake!
Two sleep and two out the door.
In full start of their day.
Peaceful, quiet, doggy snores!
Yep! Welcome to Friday!
Have a great day!
I am sitting here in church!
