Bacon and Coffee French Toast…I want some now! All I have had today is a Fiber One 90 Calorie bar.. I am soooo hungry!

Can you feel the change in the weather? Is your stomach beginning to crave some of those seasonal favorites? I have been watching my different mailboxes for new and improved menu ideas and here is a taste of two of my favorite Seasonal Menu Changes!

Here is the recipe:

The next one may be served this weekend…and it seems easy enough. The only problem is the fact that football season starts tomorrow and we know what that means…Chili!
Anyway, here is the next recipe:

Okay…did I peak your interest with my mention of Chili?
Here is my Chili recipe:

Brown your ground beef and toss in 1 medium onion.
“I use two pounds because we like our chili meaty plus a secret ingredient!”
Here’s where it gets difficult…hehe!
Two large cans of tomato sauce
3-4 cans of chili or pinto beans
And chili seasoning to taste.

I serve it with sour cream, cheddar cheese and finely diced onion.
Oh…are you curious about the secret ingredient? Let me know…I just don’t give out that information! A great cook has to have some secrets!

I hope something tickles your tastebuds!

Peach State says: It’s The Weekend…It’s The Weekend!

20121020-114801.jpg

Just your typical Saturday…everyone has a mixed up schedule filled with errands, basketball games, quartet practice…all in the morning and early afternoon. Why? Because of the football game at 12 Noon silly! The sad thing is that my quartet practice is at 1:00…it should be a short one.
Then home to football games and feet up (maybe a nap)…and later I will start dinner.

It a great Saturday! It’s The Weekend…It’s The Weekend!

Hope you can enjoy the day the way you want to.

Enjoy your coffee and Have a great day!

Peach State says: And So It Begins…

And So It Begins…
With coffee in hand I will start this cloudy day. It is a busy morning that will be moving faster than the speed of sound in the next hour. Planning and practices have led up to this day with two major items on the schedule from 9-11 this morning. It starts with a planning meeting for a major Simulcast next weekend that will be held at my church. I can’t wait for this event! I will share with you next week about this! At 10 my youngest takes the court with his basketball team in their first game of the season. We will come home and have lunch and do a few chores before the college football games, scheduled for today, invade our living room. Don’t get me wrong…I live for days like this one….sports, family, weekend cleaningbut who wouldn’t want to be somewhere else…with fewer interruptions?

Alas…the proverbial chips did not fall in my favor!
I will splurge a bit and stop by my favorite watering hole, on the way to church, and pick up some energy in a cup! (Starbucks…yep, yep yep!) I will have a smile on my face and be lucky enough to spend time with friends that I typically do not see except for Sundays. I will also be able to spend a little one on one time with a dear, sweet, peas in a pod friend whose son is also playing basketball at the same time as mine. “I wonder if we will be watching the game!”

It’s the weekend…and I do love a good…sports filled weekend! “I hope I feel this way in 8 weeks!”
What do you enjoy doing on your weekends? I will be quiet now…get some rest and relaxation…we all deserve that! Have a great day!

Peach State says: Gotta Love the Super Bowl!

20120204-102909.jpg

Super Bowl time has come once again. The game will be viewed all across the nation in a variety of ways. Families and friends will gather clothed in team colors and eat game day snacks. They will cheer for their team and coach from this side of the screen. “To bad the coach and players cannot hear our suggestions…HeHe!”. They have enough on their mind without having every American telling them what to do. “Gotta Love the Super Bowl

My family will gather together after preparing the Hot Wings and JoJos. I will make the Pigs&Blankets today and complete the snack table with Meat and Cheese Tray and Queso Dip and Brownie Bites. This feast of party goodies will replace the typical dinner. “Let the grazing begin!”

The boys are excited about the game and the line has been drawn in the sand. We are divided this year and both teams are being cheered for. Competitive in nature but not aggressive…these are not who we hoped would play in the Super Bowl. “There is always next year!”

We also look forward to the commercials…the boys will load their plates during the game and watch the commercials. We will pick our favorites and boo the bad ones. “Gotta Love the Super Bowl” The Half-Time Show will be watched, unless it reminds us of the past several years, and enjoyed as we prepare for the second half of the game. The fierce warriors will find their places and fall in line. The “I Dare You” glances bounce between the armor girded men. The coded speech mixed with grunts and groans will progress up and down the field.

What color will you be wearing? Who are you pulling for? Are you watching with family and/or friends? What snacks will you enjoy during the game? I hope your game day experience is a good one! “Gotta Love the Super Bowl”

Peach State says . . Busy Day Decorations and Baking

Well the day is here and I should hopefully be done with the Christmas Decorations.  I finally got the furniture moved and the tree up in it’s place.  I put a few ornaments on the tree and may add a few more today.  I should be able to make the pie a friend bought and have it ready to deliver tomorrow and complete the decorating in time for the 3:15 deadline.  I finished the Thanksgiving pie and cake orders with 12 pie orders and 4 fruitcake orders.

Fruitcake

You can't eat just one piece!

I love my Fruitcake recipe and so do the customers.  I only had one funny , age related, joke from a church friend.  I set him straight with a sample.  HEHE! Want the recipe?

"Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie"

To good to eat...Yeah right!

I made a decent percentage but will have to sit down and really add things up.  My orders started a week ago for the Christmas season.  I also added a Red Velvet Cake for people to order.  The Red Velvet Cake will be $28.   The Chocolate Chip Pie was the big hit.  With all of that said I hope to have snacks on the table, dinner cooking and the Game on by 3:15pm today.  Iron Bowl Day!!!  I am a little apprehensive about this game and it’s outcome.  I am hoping that I will not have to run from the room in tears or turn off the TV and busy myself with another activity.  I would love to wear my orange sweater with my blue shirt tomorrow but have a black outfit just in case we lose.  War Eagle!
