The continuous flow from the caffeine I-V contraption has been so needed today.
translation: I love Treat receipts from Starbucks…buy a coffee in the morning and get another one in the afternoon for $2!
Normal morning filled with the tired-achy-whiny complaints from peanut gallery.
translation: The weather is dealing my hubby’s sinuses fits and he had a headache. My 20 year old is doing a new workout…OUCH! My youngest just wanted to stay in bed and could not understand why he could smart-mouth back at me this morning…
The spaghetti-twined-route between each errand was like a tangled strand of pearls.
translation: I incorporated every back road to conserve gas…Isn’t that smart?
Watching reflections and shadows on a cement pond!
translation: Waiting in the car outside the tinted TKD studio.
I can go home in 30 minutes…and fix dinner! Then my feet can go up!
“All In All…Who Could Ask For Anything More?”
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
It is one of those days…
An event filled Monday…is there any other kind?
Just Your Average Run-Of-The-Mill Mondays!
I woke up before my alarm could jerk me from my peaceful slumber…which was way before the butt-crack-of-dawn. I followed the same path taken every morning in true automatic pilot fashion. Once the lattes and breakfast were complete I was off again back up to hubby’s office to enjoy a quiet 55 minutes before he got ready for work.
I planned the day and and shook my head. “Combining trips are essential to my survival!”
*I wrangled the laundry into the washer early this morning and headed back upstairs to pick up after my own laziness.
*I opened the cabinet under my bathroom sink and started throwing things away.
*I took all of the empty coat hangers out of my closet and took them to the laundry room.
*I woke up the huddle masses yearning to sleep just before “Precious Princess'” groomer arrived for a pamper and cut.
*I ran to the bank…to Starbucks (added nutrition of course)…and to the dry-cleaner.
After lunch I am…
*Trying a new method and product to refinish the wood floors in desperate need of help.
*Make a decision about what we will eat for dinner.
*Leave for our first Basketball practice of the season.
Once home…RELAX…WITH FEET UP!
I have managed to accomplish other errands and chores which I find myself doing everyday as well as connecting with an old friend and making a lunch-date on Monday…back to school celebration!
(Woo Hoo…oh boy…YeeHaw…goody goody…)
Please excuse my momentary celebration!
Well I am off to move the laundry and fold the next load. All in all it has been a great Monday…Wow! Did I just say that?
One last thought…my oldest is an official resident of Dallas, Texas. He left yesterday and arrived safe and sound!
Till next time…
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and some really fabulous coffee!”
Instead of talking…why don’t you find something constructive to do!
Wise words from mom this bright-yellow-hazed-morning. I had the cleaning bug attack this morning. I think the nasty little bugs did this Just Because It Is Thursday! Zac Brown Band is playing in the background as I move to the rhythm around the kitchen. The good thing is that I have to leave in a few… Timing is everything!
So, for the short time this morning I have been the pure definition of “Mother”.
Just wanted to drop in and say hello…and good morning!
Back to my coffee refill and the next cleaning activity.
Have a great day!
The art of thawing a turkey I learned from a necessity to Pre-plan, Pre-pare, Pre-clean, Pre-schedule…yep! I have an issue with organization, but you know this about me and still accept and love me. So with the fridge cleaned out, in preparation of the needed space, I placed the the turkey in last night. ( For those of you getting ready to shake those proverbial fingers at me for lifting and carrying heavy items…please set you hearts at ease…I delegated the placing of the turkey to my son.) I have taken precautions this year…it will be okay… “I Got This!”
This is a 15 pound turkey…Do I have time to thaw it in the fridge? Well…
I have overnight, today and tomorrow and it will be ready for a lovely Butter-Basting Thanksgiving morning. “Now this is one of my favorite memories…my mother would get up early and start the turkey so that by about 8 am we were awakened to a mixture of cinnamon rolls and Turkey. This also meant time for the chopping, slicing, mixing…I don’t know how she did it all the same day.”
Pre-planning…I will prepare several things tomorrow and place them in the fridge and then put the final touches on them Thursday. After all I want to watch some of the parades and not be chained to the kitchen. Organization down to a science…Yep! “I Got This”
That memory I just mentioned reminded me to put cinnamon rolls on the grocery list. That is what I am doing today…shopping! Check back tomorrow and I will give you the menu! For now I will gather my supplies and extra hands ( coupons, store advertisements and one or more of my sons)…see I told you “I Got This!”
Have a great day!
Tis the week…rearranging the refrigerator to hold the many supplies I will need to make Thanksgiving Dinner. Okay…so maybe not that many but what items I do have will make a couple of casseroles and I need room. Decorations are being set out ( specific for Thanksgiving) and by Thursday night…will be gone. But that is for another discussion!
It is the little things I love to do…When Getting Ready For Thanksgiving!
So off I go on another quest and chore. I know you are busy too…Have a great day!
Clean a little bit
Do a few errands
And then…a special movie time with two of my sons…
Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 2
“I can’t wait!”
Then we race home for the school bus…and the official beginning of Thanksgiving Break.
And…cutting out more leaves for the Tree of Thanksgiving.
“My hubby really liked the idea and wants the boys to participate….I was surprised!”
Yep…Today is going to be a great day filled with A Little Bit Of Everything!
I hope you have your own great day!
There it was…This is a pic of the dark and ominous view as I crested the hill Tuesday morning. I was taking my 19 year old to his painting job and saw the incredible sight. I was so excited as the possibilities flooded my weary brain. Music playing throughout the house, a few lamps turned on to provide cozy light and warmth…but alas…
Dark Sky…No Rain!
Just thought I would share…
I have completed my minor chores already today and have plans to sweep along with, as someone close to me would say, some down-on-your-knees-nitty-gritty-corner-scraping-base-board cleaning. Until that part of the day…Coffee comes first and, of course, waiting for my 19 year old to get ready so I can drop him off for work today. “A mom’s work _______!” HeHe…you understand! Have a great day!
Boy did I need a day like this…well at least a morning like this. I opened the door this morning to let “Precious Princess”, aka…my dog and shadow, out for her morning duties. The air was heavy and, as my eyes began to focus, I could see a blanket of moisture on the various surfaces.
I looked toward the streetlight to see gentle drops of rain falling as a slight breeze swept through the falling leaves. Just what the doctor ordered…a Downtime Day!
Well at least part of the day! I will busy myself with cleaning and planning the menus for today and tomorrow due to extra activities on the schedule.
Today I will attend the funeral of a sweet spirit and musician at 4 PM
Tomorrow I have an all day Beth Moore Simulcast event!
I will take care of my daily challenges and chores with routine diligence and refill my coffee as needed. “I am still playing catch-up on the lattes!” I will take it slow…due to doctors orders and the view outside my window with definitely help with this. Today would be a great fuzzy-sock-curl-up-with-a-book kinda day but…the duvet cover needs to be changed out and I need to organize a few things…like the pantry, office, dinning room. “The boys have been generously helping in the house-hold maintenance and I can barely get into the pantry much less the folded laundry that belongs to the boys on the dinning room table.” I guess there are things to still be learned about how to put things away.
Today is just what I needed…Downtime Day …we all need time to catch-up. Don’t you agree?
Have another cup and think about it…and…Have a great day!
And So It Begins…
With coffee in hand I will start this cloudy day. It is a busy morning that will be moving faster than the speed of sound in the next hour. Planning and practices have led up to this day with two major items on the schedule from 9-11 this morning. It starts with a planning meeting for a major Simulcast next weekend that will be held at my church. I can’t wait for this event! I will share with you next week about this! At 10 my youngest takes the court with his basketball team in their first game of the season. We will come home and have lunch and do a few chores before the college football games, scheduled for today, invade our living room. Don’t get me wrong…I live for days like this one….sports, family, weekend cleaning…but who wouldn’t want to be somewhere else…with fewer interruptions?
Alas…the proverbial chips did not fall in my favor!
I will splurge a bit and stop by my favorite watering hole, on the way to church, and pick up some energy in a cup! (Starbucks…yep, yep yep!) I will have a smile on my face and be lucky enough to spend time with friends that I typically do not see except for Sundays. I will also be able to spend a little one on one time with a dear, sweet, peas in a pod friend whose son is also playing basketball at the same time as mine. “I wonder if we will be watching the game!”
It’s the weekend…and I do love a good…sports filled weekend! “I hope I feel this way in 8 weeks!”
What do you enjoy doing on your weekends? I will be quiet now…get some rest and relaxation…we all deserve that! Have a great day!
There are certain truths that we carry with us in our daily lives. How things are done…and what order we do them in… These tid-bits of normalcy and set-stone-routines are the stepping stones to making it back home in the evening. Things like brushing your teeth before putting on your makeup and putting water in the coffee pot before turning it on. We are creatures of habit! These are routines we believe in!
Well this creature believes in having another cup of coffee…heck I might have more than two this morning!
How many ounces of water am I supposed to have a day? If there is coffee in the water I will be fine!
So the long weekend is over and back to normal we go. Family members are off the school and work…as I stay home with a full page of activities laid out for today. It is time to play catch-up-on-the-household-chores and try a little cleaning.
“There are remnants from the hot-dip still on the counter thanks to the midnight feeding frenzy of two who should have been asleep!”
The retrieving of hubby’s dry-cleaning on the way to TKD later today followed by dinner and the dramatic bathing ritual of my 12 year old. “He hates showers and baths!” Hubby returns home and tries to relax from the day’s work related stress before heading to bed about 2 hours later.
Ahh…Routine! “Everybody Should Believe In Something”…ours is a repetitive routine filled with coffee breaks.
Welcome to post-holiday-weekend normalcy and I hope you do not have to play catch-up. I wish you success in your routines! Have a great day!
