Peach State says: What Happened To Relaxing?

The on-the-go-non-stop-week finally ended Sunday evening with the Christmas music…OR at least what I thought!

What Happened To Relaxing?

The irritating chore bug bit me yesterday…
It was one of those days where my ADHD was in full swing as I started gathering the overwhelming amount of wire coat-hangers from the closet…
I could hang up clothes…
This could be washed…
Start the laundry…
I should get the plastic dry-cleaners bags and take them to the garbage can before the garbage is picked up…
I should run these bathroom rugs down and wash them…
I can clean the bathroom floor…
Why don’t I clean the bathroom counter and put things away…
Wow, I should put my short clothes in the bottom rack….

Well you get the idea! It was not pretty, especially when you consider the other normal chores throughout the rest of the house. I found myself sitting down about 4 PM and realizing the items not completed on my To-Do list! You know what that means…I have more To-Do today! “I am so thrilled…NOT!” Oh! Remember when I said there would be one more practice for Christmas Eve music…make that three! And that is not counting the different groups…Ladies Quartet, Ladies Trio ( which is the Ladies Quartet minus one who will with family Christmas Eve), Mixed Quartet and the Mixed Ensemble. Fortunately the Ladies Quartet is singing Sunday morning and the others will be Christmas Eve! That means at 5:15, or there abouts, the musical performance portion of my holiday season will be over and I will be free to…COOK! But that is another post!!!!

This is the last week of school and my 20 year old is helping my parents for the next week. So with a quiet and empty house I shall begin my day! “Who am I kidding?” I have already folded the clothes from the dryer and put the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher and started it. I need to wrap 10 more presents for my hubby’s office staff and then get ready to head out for one of those practices at 10:00 am. Who knows…maybe I could-just-possibly-if-I-time-it-right manage to relax before the youngest gets home!

Where can I find a vacuum like that? To quote several friends…

“SQUIRREL!!!”

Looks like my ADHD is alive and functioning today as well….”Lucky Me!”

Peach State says: Friends Don’t Let Friends Eat The Whole Piece Of Cake

So there we were…

“Mutual Cat Loving Friend” and I managed to follow our third Sunday schedule, with just a couple of kinks thrown in, and still find time to head to our favorite michevious-giggle-filled-caffeine-loaded-coffee-scented hangout…otherwise known as Starbucks. I had a FREE food purchase on my card and offered to share. I said, “You must understand that this means less calories for both of us…and that is a good thing…right?” This is the response I got from “Mutual Cat Loving Friend”…

“Friends Don’t Let Friends Eat The Whole Piece Of Cake!”

We giggled together and then decided it would make a great blog title…and decided to share a cranberry loaded Oatmeal Cookie. So this was just for you “Mutual Cat Loving Friend”!

We enjoyed our time a little too much before I realized that I was late for one of those kinks. (A meeting with the Pastor’s wife about VBS) This meeting went longer than normal and I had to excuse myself, once again, to rush to an earlier than normal sound check. Three major events squeezed into a period of 2, very short, hours. I must say that this was not a typical Sunday as it started with my 20 year old jumping out of a plane from 15,000 ft. …but that is another story!

Today I have done most of what I need to do…with the minor exception of tonight’s basketball practice and Christmas music practice.

Yep…Just another normal day!

Peach State says: And So It Begins…

20121105-072039.jpg

It’s Monday…the beginning of a new week and the first Monday in a new Month. Not just any month but, November! “So much to do and so little time!” These are the days when people start their “Holiday Rush” and the many countdowns take the place of “OMG…It’s Monday” complaints.

And So It Begins…

I have already begun my various forms of count-downs for the various activities. “I love the feeling of accomplishment and finding shortcuts to completion of my many lists!” But… my health does throw a Proverbial Wrench into the works this year.

Sooo…I conquer what I can before it needs to be done and find room for the “extra-out-of-the-ordinary-must-be-done” items placed on my To-Do lists! (case in point…) The Presidential Election…I, along with my hubby, went to vote this past Wednesday. With his schedule and the hour long commute there was no way he could cast his vote tomorrow. [That is one giant check mark by an item on my list!] School is out tomorrow and I will have plenty of help, hopefully, around the house as I begin my Pre-holiday clean. I will be able to follow the Election Coverage as I check other items off my list. I was thrilled to find an invitation, of sorts, to an exclusive hair salon addressed to me in the mail Saturday. It is for a FREE haircut, hair style and color! “Goody…Goody!” If I plan it right I could have a new hairstyle for the holidays. Calendar in hand…I will carefully navigate the already set-in-stone commitments and book the appointment. “It sounds like a Me-day!” That is just what the doctor ordered…well not in so many words but…with the increase of medical appointments mixed in with the standard everyday events I sure do like the sound of an almost “Spa Day”…wouldn’t you?

My day is in full swing now with the exiting of my hubby and my youngest. I will finish my chat with you as I finish my coffee and pull out my calendar of event and checklist. “I wonder if I spend to much time and energy on planning?” (insert silent giggle)

Have a great day!
