The noisy clicking and clacking of raindrops seem unending while the splatter and splash leaves a visible sogginess on my screens. What a lovely day…to bad I have to go out in this cold, miserable rain.
But Then Again It’s Monday!
I sat down this morning to find myself with a checklist of sorts. My calendar, open to this weeks events, was already full as I added in the preparation To-Do list! I have something important every night…but tonight! “Of course I should consider the staying home and relaxing IMPORTANT as spending time with family is a high priority!”
Usual morning routine,
Prepare to close E’s Design Party,
Prepare for C’s Design Party,
Go to the bank,
Routine cleaning and laundry,
Same old…same old…,
Usual morning routine,
Final prep for C’s Design Party,
Get Crock-Pot Dinner started early,
Minor daily clean,
C’s Design Party,
Home about 9pm and relax,
(Here is where the week starts getting a bit hairy!)
Usual routine for hubby’s day off,
Plan and cook dinner,
Leave for various practices…Ladies Quartet, Christmas Cantata, Praise Team,
Arrive home about 10 PM and put feet up for an hour,
(You know the pattern for the daily grind so let’s just skip to the good stuff!)
Prepare to close C’s Design Party,
Go to the bank,
Get youngest off the bus, cleaned and dressed in presentable attire,
Leave for Hubby’s Work party,
Back home about 9:30PM,
Put wired 13 year old in bed after shower and relax for a few minutes,
After drinking double the coffee I will…
Close C’s Design Party,
Plan and cook dinner in my trusty Crock-Pot,
Leave as early as I can for the Music Ministry Christmas Party….( I am so excited…I just can hide it….I love this Party!!!)
Come home and explain to hubby why I am later than usual!
Early morning Dress-Rehearsal at 10,
Uh oh….no football game to watch! ( running around the house doing a bad “Home Alone” imitation!)
My team did win their pivotal games and just won the SEC Championship…next the National Championship!! “Please excuse my bragging!”
Anyway…Don’t panic…I am sure I will find something to fill my time with!
Dinner and relaxation,
(This is the busiest of Sundays and a few extra kinks have been inserted into the schedule!)
Up and out for early sound-check…church…home? I may just stay with friends….”hmmm”
(Hubby may be driving our 20 year old to my parent’s for his visit. My 20 year old will be staying with them while my 23 year old travels out of town with his job! This will be good for many reasons…my parent’s health is not good and they need someone who can drive and lift…also with my 20 year old leaving for the Army shortly after Christmas they will be able to spend so quality time with each other!)
Singing at the Lodge at 4:00 PM,
Back to church for evening sound-check followed by Christmas Cantata,
Home to put feet up…oops I forgot about dinner!
I am exhausted just thinking about it…not to mention the little odds and ends not included! Wait a minute…the rain stopped! NOT…it is just a lighter rain now! I had better begin my day and let you get back to your’s!
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
Okay…I have had some coffee but I will be in withdrawals at the rate I am going!
I have just a few minutes…And I am Crossing My Fingers As I Clock Watch! I will be heading out early this morning (about 8:15- 8:30) with many complicated and separated missions to be accomplished. I hope to reach my Doctor appointment with a few minutes to spare.
Take a look:
Leave and head to Kroger…
Get cash and put gas in the car,
Race off to the Army Recruiter for final weigh in of 19 year old son,
Back on Hwy to local Wholesale Warehouse to return the leaking Kuerig coffee pot,
Turn into the main drag and off to an hour long PT Session and then a visit with the Chiropractor,
Back home…check the mail for monthly $$$ and to eat lunch,
If the check comes…back out for needed supplies and then to the nail salon,
Back home for well deserved NAP!
Well I am off…wish me luck! And hope the replacement Kuerig works…
Have a great day!
My day started 30 minutes earlier today thanks to the Boss-ordered-monthly-meeting at hubby’s work. But…as you probably have guessed…”Knowing me the way you do!”… I was already awake due to the dawn-splitting-door-chime as my son left for his routine workout. The typical restlessness throughout the night, due to one thing or another, as the clock moved in it’s steady march of time delayed my springing to action as the alarm clock completed it’s mission. It is going to be a wonderful, exciting day filled with anticipated extras carefully orchestrated into the regular busy routine! [Sorry for the sarcastic tone!]
Yep…there will be a need to hydrating today especially seeings how Monday’s Call For Coffee!
On the schedule we have:
Hubby out the door 45 minutes early.
Youngest doctor appointment at 9 am.
Drop off prescriptions to be filled.
Take youngest to school.
Regroup and contemplate my MRI at 1 pm.
Organize transportation for my 19 year old son’s test at 3 pm
Leave for MRI at 12:15-12:30.
Come home and fix dinner…to be served about 4:15 to youngest.
Pick up prescriptions.
TKD at 5 pm.
Drive to church for Basketball.
Basketball at 7 pm.
Leave for home and off to bed for youngest at 8:30 pm.
Make sure second pot of coffee is made before hubby gets home about 9 pm.
I will need more than two hands today…my hands will be busy hold the two cups of coffee I will crazily be drinking from. BUT…I can do this…it is just a few things thrown into the usual chaotic Monday schedule!
I hope you find time to complete what needs to be done. Have a great day!
Last night, while fast forwarding through the commercials, my hubby announced he needed to leave earlier for the Monday meeting. “Get me up about 6:00 and I will be able to take my shower about 6:35-6:40.” That is all well and good if he can actually follow the demands of the ticking clock. So far so good! He has roughly 10 minutes to get dressed and out the door! “MEN!”
We all have crazy schedules that drive us rapidly in many directions on Mondays. Everything is a blur as we continue to try and accomplish our preset duties for the day. Life thrusts it’s not-so-humorous interruptions into our day and we press on finally crawling into our safe haven and pulling the covers over our heads. Pain, fear, bickering, pure exhaustion…the interruptions are many but, we remain strong. “We are strong…because we get up the next morning and do it all over again!”
Do what you can to the best of your ability! That is all we can do!
So…put a smile on your face and I will put one on mine…face the new day!
Make it the best day…because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
Oh and by all means…finish that cup of coffee!
Have a great day!
