Peach State says:  The Power of Invisible Mosquitos!

Now that you have finished the laughing and nodding your head in total agreement…think about it!

We try to keep our emotions in check!  The proverbial straight-jacket-squad stands ready, at all sides, to jump in and wrap you up like a snug-little-bug-in-a-rug to keep us from flying off our assorted handles.  Yes, assorted handles!  The handles may be oversized, large, small or even loose needing to be tightened…but that doesn’t mean anything.  Size doesn’t matter because they are individually related to each of us!  What may be small for some may be huge for others!  So my lecture for the day…mainly speaking to myself…is:

Shake your head, shed a tear, and don’t forget “The Power Of Invisible Mosquitos!”…Then laugh!  And when you are done remember one thing!  (Am I listening?)

Let go!…God has stronger hands to hold my circumstances, and the those belonging to those close to me, in order.  He’s got this!!! Oh, and He gave us the ability to laugh when thinking about those wonderful “Invisible Mosquitos!”

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Peach State says: Holiday Rush…The Complaint Department is Open!

Sadly the only running-around-like-a-chicken-with-my-head-cut-off I have been involved in has been move related. My calendar is overflowing as the appointments and deadlines overlap and blur!

Holiday Rush…The Complaint Department is Open!

The holidays have begun and left me in the dust! Thanksgiving caught me by surprise for the first time this year. I have never been so out of control…BUT…the food was delicious! “Or so I was told!” The Christmas decorations were put up, in a minimal way, giving the new home its first taste of the Christmas Season!

I have only bought one present…”Can your believe it?
Me…the organized pre-Christmas Rush shopper! I might as well be married to the Grinch. “Oh wait…I am!” (No…I am serious!). Today, for instance, the alarm company is, once again, coming out to work on the alarm system. Hopefully he will be done in time for me to race over to the school, at 1:40, and check out our youngest who has two appointments an hour away. We should get home about 6:45 ish. He can then start on his homework while I quickly prepare the remnants of dinner before hubby gets home about 7:10.

“There does not seem to be enough time in my day to do anything of my choosing…much less Christmas shopping!”

Now add in the extra practices for the Christmas programs…Yep, multiple!
( one on the 14th and the other on Christmas Eve) Hubby has over-ruled several practices due to the move and our out of town guests. But the upcoming practices…kinda gotta go to them. The one this Sunday and the performance Sunday I will have to stay over close to the church. So…I will have to have everything with me to get me through the whole day. I will more than likely camp out in the parking lot or….(shhh!) hide out in the bathroom until everyone is gone…Nope! They set the alarm after everyone is gone! Parking lot it is…

With all of the extra running, to and fro, with these errands an hour away I have to creatively conserve gas. Money is short this month due to the move and some of my money did not make the address change time limit. Maybe that is another reason for the lack of needing to shop.

Deadlines…there are just too many deadlines. Oh…and now there is a small wedding to plan, I think, shortly after my military son gets home in December. “I need a moment to break down…scream…pull my hair out.”
“Does anyone have a pill I can borrow?” Can’t seem to fit in a trip to the doctor about this…he is too far away anyway…and I don’t have the money to pay! (Vicious circle…vicious circle!)

So what have I learned from this rant? I have learned I need to move a few things to make room for a few more. I have learned I better go shopping before our youngest gets out of school the 19th. I have learned I better plan my wardrobe wisely, before heading to church, to lessen my needed items to pack… “I am tired just thinking about it!” Maybe I will just buy a gift card for the three older sons and some COAL clothes, a basketball and a book for the youngest. (Suddenly I am giddy!) If that is all I have to buy I can do it tomorrow!

Sorry! I lost my head for a moment! The dryer just beckoned…so I am off to continue my menial but, needed chores.

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Silent Mode Please!

It seems a common occurrence in today’s church….Someone does not close their eyes during prayers.

Peach State says: The Truth Is Out There…

Well…”The Truth Is out There”…on my shirt!

School is back in session and the children are nestled into their little pegs.
My youngest began his 8th grade year Monday. When asked about his day by my hubby, last night, the response was “boring” “It’s going to be a long great year!”

I hope I can find another shirt to wear…and quick! Maybe one with a endless supply of coffee!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Long Summer Day

What a “Long Summer Day“!

The cloud covered sky threatens of rain…
The heaviness of the thick air…
The stillness of the branches outside my window…

Oh to hear the waves as they cool my feet in the sandy shore!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: My Biggest Lie!

My Biggest Lie is that I am organized! “Well not like i used to be!” I am not feeling organized right now and my daily routine is just out of reach. Making lists for things to be done, today, tomorrow, and planning ahead for events, has always been one of my strongest abilities! But the scattered brain is in fluster mode and my normal routine has recently left me high and dry. Things just don’t seem so important and things that are important have been rescheduled. My schedule has fallen apart and my typical-daily-dance-through-my-day mentality has been replaced by phone calls from my hubby who has packed my somewhat set schedule with repairmen and estimates.

Confession: This proverbial list maker has forgotten to make a list much less follow existing the daily lists! Why? I would like to take this moment and thank the different parties…
My hubby…
The main floor A/C unit…
The front yard…
The water main under my church…
Braces for my youngest…
The last VBS Training and set design for a VBS scheduled for the second week of June…
And ( drum roll please) getting ready for my 21 year old’s graduation from BASIC and AIT…

It has all hit at the same time leaving me in “Dinner Chicken” mode…”You know that chicken running around with it’s head whacked off!”
The upside of this life altering situation is the fact my house is clean…usually before 8:30 am. “Can’t have repairmen and odd job people, giving me estimates, walking into a dirty house…Can I?” If you look at my schedule/calendar you will see a block of days with notations from May 21st through June 14th. My son’s graduation is May 23rd and then he comes home for 8-10 days. The youngest has finals the next week which is also the last week of school. The first week of June is Youth Camp and VBS set up…as well as sending my 21 year old to his first duty station. The youngest comes home on that Friday or Saturday and VBS starts the next week!

My head is spinning just thinking about those three weeks…they will be filled with some different emotions on varied levels.

This is the time I would draw strength from my dear friends at church…
Unfortunately with the water main break under the church we only see each other for one day…(1 1/2 hours). Sadly their lives seem to be on an uncontrollable carousel of life interrupting struggles. We are a bit disconnected…well that is my feeling!

But wait!!! I am feeling more connected to my Army son… The letters have been coming in on a regular basis. The last one did hold a warning of no letters after a certain date. But that date is only 12 days before we see him again and he should be getting his phone back in a couple of days!

The youngest is getting braces tomorrow. “Boy is he excited…NOT!!!” They are so needed and he will be happy when they come off in 9th grade and not 10th, 11th or 12th.

The revolving door has started with the A/C company installing a new system. Timing is good…high 80’s today! The sun streaming through the window, right now, feels more than warm on my arm as I type this post. Sadly I see I need to clean those windows! “Where is my ladder?” ( no shaking of that finger…)

Time to get back to my life…or at least my day and make another cup of coffee!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
