Peach State says: Do A Little Thanksgiving Dance

The menu is prepared and casseroles prepared. Only one question this year…”Mom, how many pumpkin pies are you making?” So back to the store for more ingredients so my military son can have his pumpkin pie!

This dance is contagious! Happy Thanksgiving and don’t forget to Do A Little Thanksgiving Dance!

Peach State says: It’s Monday…HELLO!

IMG_5869.JPG

My hubby and #2 son ventured out early yesterday, to the old house, in hopes of completing this never-ending-just-take-it-to-Goodwill-move! I got home from church and did a few things including starting the laundry…Switch the loads and started dinner…

LONG STORY SHORT…
I was almost ready to make the almost hour long trek to church, for the Ordination of a very dear friend, when the washer decided to ding! This was not the usual ding but a distinct Hey-this-is-your-washer-and-I-have-stopped-working! Hubby said he would look at it and sent in #2 son who, in turn, told the youngest to climb up on the washer and see it there was a kink in the hose. Nope! Hubby said “I will take care of it later!”

Fast-forward to this morning…”Honey, you will need to look up the problem online and see it the washer can be fixed…if not you will need to call a plumber!” ( insert giggle) “Uh, I think it would be best to call an Appliance Repair guy!” Hubby shook his head in agreement. “Here are my dirty clothes…and can you take the dry cleaning, work on the boxes in the basement!…oh and what are you planning on for dinner?”

It’s Monday…HELLO!

I know what I need to do…and it all starts with…COFFEE!

Time to get to work…oh, and get dressed just in case the appliance repair company I called can come out today!

Peach State says: Roller-coaster Day!

Yesterday was my first day, since being in our new home, with no installs or repairs scheduled. Where to start? My bedroom…time to sort through those boxes and put things where they belonged. The task was clicking along with occasional texts with friends thrown into the chore. I reached a stopping point and sat for a moment. A friend texted me with two simple words…”Call Me!” I did as I was asked and called…she answered in a tone no one likes to hear. The news was sudden but expected. A friend of ours and member of our church had been suffering with Pancreatic Cancer and went home yesterday…to heaven! After a few stunned moments and quiet conversation the call ended and I began the notification of those who would want to know. A little while later I was contacted to get the meal organized…via e-mail…for the family after the funeral. All I was really thinking was how I was going to deliver this news to my youngest son…the thought of losing a friend and youth director had already hit him hard and this….this would shake him to the core.

Hubby calls that he is on his way home…30 minutes early. I told him dinner was in the oven and would be ready in about 10 minutes. He told me he had the tile-cutter he had loaned to a friend and would need some help getting out of the car. I watched as he pulled down the street and opened the garage door. Then being the good wife, that I am, I sent the youngest out to help! A blink of an eye later my youngest steps back into the garage and says “Daddy needs your help!” I walk through the garage and out to the truck…open the front door and hear…”it’s in the back”. I open the back door and do not see a tile-cutter…

My son is home for Veteran’s Day! He had traveled from his Army Base yesterday morning and hubby had secretly picked him up at the airport yesterday afternoon. He had been in town most of the day!
I closed the door and looked at my hubby…I opened the door and my son stepped out…I grabbed my son and held on tight!

“Yes I cried…again!” I told you it was a Roller-coaster Day!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Remember the reason for Veteran’s Day and thank them for their service!

Peach State says: The Slow Disappearance of Card Board Boxes

IMG_6273.JPG

We have been our new home for a whole week now! The teetering towers of card board boxes have finally dwindled to the final stragglers. “Of course there were many unfortunate boxes opened and relocated to the basement!”

The Slow Disappearance of Card Board Boxes

I have moved the keepable boxes to the garage…

My youngest has been busy, with a sharp instrument in hand, reducing the opened boxes. The next big job is cleaning off the dinning room table…

IMG_6293.JPG

The saddest part of this move has been the lack of time to enjoy my new get-away…

Well…the remaining boxes are calling my name…we have friends coming over tonight and they must be gone! Before closing here are a couple more views of our new home…
