Peach State says: HoHoHo…It’s Facebook Funnies!

20131226-084746.jpgThe tree, brightly lit, stands proudly with memory filled decorations filling the branches. The only difference is the barren space beneath the tree! Christmas was wonderful and family time was especially fulfilling this year…and now we start the countdown!
The countdown we have is not the traditional one but that discussion will be for another day…for now we will continue with the weekly countdown to this week’s countdown:

About justbetweencousins

We are first cousins who live farther apart from each other than we would like. We thought this blog would give us a chance to visit with each other as well as maybe share a few insights about life. We are both middle aged and until recently both of us had kids the same age (nearly grown). But then the Peach State cuz adopted a son, so she has four now. Heart of Dixie cuz has two daughters. We have a couple of things which are prominently in common (although I'm sure there are actually more): We vacation at our Mema's beach house in Panama City Beach, Florida - until recently, we did so with all of our kids. We both sing - although Heart of Dixie cuz is not currently singing anywhere right now. We both write. We are both Christians, although Peach State cuz is Baptist, and Heart of Dixie is currently floating about between the Anglican church, the Methodist church, and the Episcopalian church. Long story.

  1. I enjoy the Christmas tree and decorations most when I have little ones in the house. I do allow a certain amount of playing with some of the decorations, and a certain amount of playing with and redecorating the Christmas tree. Having so many girls in the family, it was quite refreshing to have my 3 year old grandson’s perspective this year: T-rex! Yes, he loves dinosaurs, and knows quite a bit about them. So, one of his dinosaurs became part of the Christmas experience at Grandma’s house. I have a picture of a t-rex in my tree…apparently Christmas trees are delicious! But they can also be sweet! T-rex spent a lot of time hanging out at the manger scene; so much, that he decided that he wanted to bring a gift to baby Jesus! Not to be outdone by those three wise men, T-rex decided to take Larry the Cucumber from the tree, and bring him to baby Jesus! Baby Jesus really liked that gift, and Gavin was quite pleased with T-rex! So sweet! Of course, when the granddaughters arrived, I had to explain to them why there was a dinosaur at the manger scene…they were not as amused as Grandma…
