Peach State says: Facebook Funnies Turkey Leftovers

Pandora is playing Seasonal Classics through the lower level of the house thanks, in part, to Bluetooth technological-capabilities my talent of pushing all of the right buttons! I am waiting for my youngest to crawl from his warm bed before taking the fall decorations down. Christmas will be assembled and placed throughout the house later…so while I wait I will share some of the Facebook Funnies Turkey Leftovers!

Let’s start with a definite winner…Blog Worthy Award Winner #1:

Now that is a mom using her experience to help others!

Family discussions around the table can be very lively…or just a repeat of the previous year!

Yes…reading it quietly to yourself qualifies as a prayer!

How about some snickers from the Animal Kingdom…:

Quickly moving along..

Just a question…”The last time you said “Houston…we have _____!” did you ever get a response…yep, me either!

“Hey…Is that my sweater?”

Remind You of Anyone Award:

Put your hands down!

How many of you are still in your PJ’s? All I have to say is it morning somewhere…right?

Hehe…Haha…Hehe! ( breath)

Well…don’t hurt yourself on my account!

How about some Christmas Funnies:

Okay that will be quite enough!

And last but not least…The Straight-Jacket Award Winner:

Don’t think about this or you could end up in a Straight-Jacket…hehe!

Share some humor and give a smile…

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: My First Christmas Decoration!

I know I told you that I will not decorate until the day after Thanksgiving…my hubby offered and I was not going to refuse!

My First Christmas Decoration!

We finally succeeded in locating a parking place, at one of the local home improvement stores, and walked across the parking lot toward the welcoming front doors. The stiff northern wind was whipping viciously around adding to the already chilled day. My hubby paused to look at the sale they had on non-Christmas-type trees and then turned and headed to the door. We passed a display with small pine trees shaped like the picture above and there, mixed in with the pine, was a Rosemary Bush with all the festive scent a girl could want! “I do love Rosemary!”

I have some precious ideas to decorate this table-top-tree but that will have to wait until after Thanksgiving. No if’s, and’s or but’s about that! I felt a little bad about breaking my rule…but then I found a solution.

Rosemary is a Herb and Herbs belong in the kitchen!. “Right?”

Where there is a will there is a way!”

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Bend, Whip and Twirl!

I could hear it when I woke up in the darkness of the morning. I could feel it when I opened the door leading to the back porch. I could see it even though the overcast-cloud-covered sky lacked the bright sun beams streaming through each crevasse of the varied-entwined branches.

Bend, Whip and Twirl!

The leaves have recovered surfaces that were routinely cleaned yesterday. Yet once again the numerous and ever-multiplying brownish leaves have been Bent and Whipped from there lofty heights and have danced their way, in a symphonic masterpiece, only to be lost in the Twirling collection on the ground!

Brightly colored leaves are beginning to fade just like their chances of holding onto the insecure limbs during their Bering Strait baring state. ( Sorry I could not resist the analogy of a colder climate!). As I look out the windows, surrounding me, it looks very chilly as the remaining quivering leaves tremble on the branches. I know my mind is playing tricks on me as the tingling chill-bumps run up and down my arms and shoulders.

I do so love these type of days…especially when I can watch the Bend, Whip and Twirl caused by the stiff Fall wind…Don’t you? I know a certain 13 year old who would love to be outside trying to catch that solitary straggler as it floats to the already covered ground.

A day made for memories…

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State

Peach State says: Hehe…Haha…Facebook Funnies!

Still moving a little faster than a turtle’s pace but at least I am moving…well enough to fix my coffee and do some laundry and clean out the dishwasher… “You get the idea!”

Are you ready for some Hehe…Haha…Facebook Funnies!?

I need to let you in on a secret! our “Mutual Cat Loving Friend” has been under the weather this week and has not posted any funnies! “I know how she feels and wish her a speedy recovery…oh, and we need some more funnies!”

Let’s jump right in with the Straight-Jacket Award Winner:

Hmmm…Maybe that one should have been the Remind of Anyone Award Winner!

Nope…The Remind You of Anyone Award Winner is:

“How many times has my hubby told our sons he was going to do this?…Too many!” ( no lie…)

Speaking of no lie…

Who can relate?

I showed this to a teenager (18 year old) and he agreed with it whole-heartedly…of course he has three sisters under the age of 7!

Great!…Now I am hungry!

Time for the Cat Parade:

Personally…I have found that if my problem is that bad I can’t sing through the tears…So I guess this statement is true!

Blog Worthy Award Winner #1:

Aww…he’s speaking French to me!

Blog Worthy Award Winner #2:

Peach State says: Helping Seniors…In More Ways Than One!

The welcoming hugs and sincere compliments come from a dynamic group of Seniors at my church. They are, by far, the most personality filled group I have ever known! My Minister of Music has several of us to lend a vocal hand to this group when they sing and today my “Mutual Cat Loving Friend” and I will be that vocal hand. The Seniors are taking a short trip to a local Nursing Home to usher in a bit of Holiday Cheer!

Helping Seniors…In More Ways Than One!

I am not a stranger to being in a nursing home…much less singing in them. I, as a small child, would visit my great-grandparents and sing for them. When my grandmothers were placed in nursing homes I went to visit and became aware of the overwhelming sadness surrounding this type of living. “Maybe this is why I now sing with my “Mutual Cat Loving Friend” every third Sunday at a facility of semi-shut-ins. The expressions tell the many stories…the bright and twinkling eyes….the shaky out reaching hands…the low hanging head…the attending nurse standing quietly next to a special case… “My heart-strings are tugged!”

The Seniors at my church have a tight-knit group…and support each other daily. What an incredible example they give to us as they minister to those in the nursing homes. My parents taught us to respect and love these valuable members of the church. My parents would always tell us “You will never understand what a simple touch or word can do until you are older…” I love to give hugs and take time to speak to them…even more so today! There is one sweet spirit that, though she is three years older than my dad, seems fragile and weak! She has a spunky personality and lights up a room when she walks in. She has the most beautiful and clear soprano voice and was asked to sing a solo last year at one of the nursing homes. The timid voice began to shake and I moved behind her and rested my hand on her shoulder. When she finished I leaned up and told her how beautiful her song was…she just grabbed me and said “I thought an angel was standing behind me to give me strength…it was you!” Needless to say we have a special connection!

Oh the many life lessons they have already taught me and there are many things I still have to learn. I have tried to instill this same respect and love, for this special group, in my own children and have been thrilled to see the results. My 3 sons all appreciate and help Seniors…we are still working with the youngest. He is learning from a professional though…my 20 year old has taken him under his wing and shown him how to relate and respect this valuable resource called Seniors. (Don’t tell him I have seen him do this…it would ruin his coolness!)

It is almost time for me to start getting ready to leave. Would you do me a favor today? If you see a Senior…speak to them! Offer a hand or just a moment to listen! They will love it and you will not forget it!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State say: Facebook Funnies…Finally!

I have found my Facebook Minions…aren’t they cute?

What a week I have had…I have so much to tell you! The only problem is the lack of time to do so! For now let’s get to the task at hand and enjoy a giggle and chuckle together! It is time for FACEBOOK FUNNIES…FINALLY!!!

How about some inspirations words?:

I would have to agree…any parent would!

The truth is laid out for you in Black and White!

Blog Worthy Award Winner #1:

The upside of following this exercise routine is having more time to do other things like watch TV and snack! ( healthy snacks of course…snicker, snicker…)

We are a strong group of friends! But I did hear a comment recently regarding the fact that we resembled a support group…

Because of the lack of Forest animals I have been unable to walk around my cement-cinder block!

Sounds like my 13 year old!

I guess we do use Science in many different parts of our life…”Crap…that means we use Algebra too!” ( facetious chuckle!)

This comment has been brought to you by “Blonde is Nice and Easy“…sorry…I may resemble that remark!

Blog Worthy Award Winner #2:

Like I have always said…( insert Motherly advice)

“Remind You of Anyone Award”:

My mat would say “The cleaning staff have been infected by the Selective Hearing Germ…Enter at your own risk!”

The Straight-Jacket Award goes to…

“I am so glad I don’t have a cat!”

Okay…I will stop!

Have a giggle filled day!

They said share so I followed directions!

Peach State says: Chick-Flickathon!

Today was the perfect day for staying indoors…and for a little me time. “Well me time mixed in with a bit of tidying here and there!” What does that really mean for me?

All by myself in an empty house and a DVR filling up with holiday-Kleenex-holding-eye-wiping-chick-flicks needing to be watched. Of course the Kleenex was also helpful in wiping my runny nose due to the weather change. “Did I mention the arctic shift in temperatures?” Maybe that is why I served good old fashioned Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese…a little comfort food is just what my mother would have ordered for a itchy throat.

Time for the next movie and this time with my youngest! Maybe a nice cup of hot chocolate later!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Veteran’s Day Thank You!

I want to take a moment to give pause!

Veteran’s Day Thank You!

Thank you for taking that pause in your day to remember our Veterans! I have quite the military service lineage as well as marrying my husband during his Military Service! This time next year my 20 year old will be serving in the United States Army. The daily freedoms we enjoy came at a cost and we should not take them for granted. I will honor the memory of the fallen as well as those who presently serve this great country. I will pray for those serving our country and for your safe return to those your hold dear!
