Peach State says: Fall’s Morning Colors

The slightly chilled driveway brought a smile to my face this morning as I, once again, took the trash bag out to the can by the street. “It is Monday which means Garbage day!” I said my final departures to my off-to-work hubby and walked back to the garage. The painted canvas was bright and cheerful as the sun began it’s peek-a-boo game on it’s steady climb into the morning sky.

The splatter of colors mixed with the bright fire-orange glow make for a pretty picture to start the day! The pulled-apart-cotton-ball clouds float lazily across the sky with quickly changing hues. My mind moves along in a slightly faster pace…reminding me to continue with the chores laid out for me. I turn and go back inside…fix my small and quite cute designed bowl of oatmeal. (Yes I ate something!)
This is the last day of September and the final days with my 20 year are finally here. We will soon have his departure date…but until then I will be a sentimental and reflective mom. ” Wait…I have always been that type of mom!”

Just a few more minutes of solitude with my “morning companion” before the influx of pest control and shipments bombard my door. The shipments I can’t wait for…the bug-guy…well you know how it is!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Guess What Day is Tomorrow!

We all need something to look forward to…after the day we have all had today!
“Can I Get An Amen?”

I needed something to jerk me from the downward spiral…giving me a silly smile that slowly creeps across my face!

If I were to look into the mirror I am afraid I would see Grumpy Cat starring straight back at me! Scary…I know!

Hubby is almost home and is talking to me as he drives home. Dinner is ready…”Thank you Mr. Crock Pot!”
Some of our favorite TV shows are returning tonight and we can hardly wait! “I miss my Gibbs!” (Please excuse the NCIS reference!)

Hubby is one street away and I must prepare for the welcome home greeting…( get your minds out of the gutter…I am making him a cup of coffee!)

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter and oh, really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Long Time No See!

Wow…can you believe how long it has been since my last post?

“Long Time No See!”

Let me explain

Fall Break,
Hubby took vacation days,
Seasonal allergies,
iOS 7 updates,
Helping my brother and
Preparing for the Gospel Concert at my church.

This past week knocked me on my “proverbial” butt!

It took longer than originally thought to update my iPhone and iPad but…success! Now I am exploring the new features and finding new paths around my apps.

I have dealt with the flowering demon plant called “Goldenrod” all my life. But this week, since it started blooming , I have tried countering the vicious attacks by routinely falling into a Benadryl induced coma…”Can I just say it does not seem to be working completely!” It could be worse!

Last night was the annual Gospel Concert at my church…what a fun night! I was fortunate enough to sing with dear friends and to listen to solos and groups sing. The Senior Adult Choir sang a great song at the end of the service and when the lights came up there were smiles on every face throughout the worship center.

I have finally updated my calendar events with all of the events written on posted notes! Downloaded all of my digital grocery coupons and have my list ready. “Now to make the menu!”

Now to pick up where I left off a week ago…My youngest will be at a mini-youth retreat this Friday until Sunday and Mutual Cat Loving Friend and I will be providing dinner Saturday night for the Junior High Boys. “I think she and I are more excited about getting together to cook the dinner than we are about the boys being gone for the weekend.”

Routine is back and this means basketball tonight…Yippee!
I have gotten quite a lot accomplished today and if I stop writing I can get a bit more done before heading out to do my errands. Have a great one…

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State

Peach State says: Fall Break Stay-ca!

We gathered to watch one of our favorite NFL teams play last night…Rain Delay!
Sooo…we watched a scary movie! Once the movie was over we switched back to the game finally in progress. Our team won! It was after midnight we headed up to bed. Sleeping in, with no alarms set, we began to rise about 9:40 this morning as the boys all slept in till almost noon. (Except for the youngest who rose about 10:00)

Hubby is playing catch-up before assisting our 23 year old with a problem. Our 20 year old came in a few minutes ago and asked the proverbial question…”What do you want to do today?”

Well, there are quite a few things I would like to do but sadly they involve the spending of money…or, in our case, non-existent money! Oh well…it’s another Fall Break Stay-Ca!

I guess I better start thinking about dinner…

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Facebook Funnies Friday!

That will leave a mark!

Benadryl induced coma due to seasonal allergies after being outside so much yesterday= slow moving morning with Asthma Inhaler close by… I think I will relax and share a
Facebook Funnies Friday and a chuckle or two…

Casual Friday:

I bet this information will not be on the next test!

Are you kidding…it’s Friday and we never do anything in this class…remember! ( some may laugh but Whovian’s will truly understand!). Lol

Words of Wisdom:
Blog Worthy Award Winner#1:

Now how could a boss turn down a plea to getting your life in order and altering bad attitudes. “Wait a second…my boss should be sent away too!” Or… It’s really an IRS Conference!

Uh..well maybe… I guess it depends on how well you focus and what you focus on!

“Straight-Jacket Award Winner:

Multiple personalities…weird noises…facial ticks…bad jokes… It’s a party waiting to happen!

…and we can’t have that!

“…but I reayee wanted to be da Hulk” said the small boy.

Time for the finicky-felines:

Okay…this one is a borderline homicidal! “Will someone please get this cat some food!”

His family must be leaving on their Fall Break vacation…I know nothing ’bout that activity!

Or is this what the mother of a new teen-driver looks like!

Spider-cats?…Quick call Batman!

“I said Batman!”

The only draw back is the HOA is not happy with the number of boxes around my house!

I’m just sayin’:

Solution…a longer straw!

Blog Worthy Award Winner #2

I am glad we had this little chat!

“Remind You of Anyone Award”:

The only problem is that my friend does not drink Red Bull!

(A new Award category…)“Whovian Award”:
This is for my Doctor Who friends…”Okay and for me!”

Remember…don’t blink!

Scary thing is the fact that I know exactly what he said and how it sounded.

Shh! “I can’t hear the TV!”

Speaking of noises…my stomach is churning away. I guess I had better fix something for lunch!
I hope you felt a chuckle as a smile crossed your face. Let me know which one was your favorite!
Oh, do you think we need a Coffee Award?

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: I Said Goodbye To The Beautiful Spring Snow!

Do you remember my beautiful fragile pink blooming tree that snowed each time the wind whispered through the blossoms?

Now look at it…

I Said Goodbye To The Beautiful Spring Snow!

Long story short…
Landscapers were told, yesterday, to trim the tree back so that the branches were not over the sidewalk…and to round up the branches reaching for the sky. They were then supposed to trim the bushes back throughout the front yard and get the branches off the house in the backyard. The landscapers agreed and named their price. They arrived this morning about five minutes late and preceded to work on the tree. My 20 year old was watching from the window and saw a larger than life branch as it slammed against the ground. “Uh…mom…that doesn’t look right!” I came to look and then feverishly opened the front door and stepped out to get a better look. “Why are they cutting down the tree?” My son began to wave his arms in protest and they stopped the tree eating machinery. He explained that they were just to trim the tree not take it down. I went into override called a Community Board Member and then the HOA Management Company. Once they hear this story…they were sympathetic and there will be no fines connected to the taking down of the blooming giant.

It breaks my heart to loose my Spring Snow…

The bad news is that it is after 4:30 and the landscapers left over an hour ago to get another saw…they still have not touched the bushes. So much for having it done quickly and professionally!
I will resume my station when they return in case there are any questions!

I sincerely hope your day was better…

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: We Will Never Forget!

I just want to honor the memory of those lost in the tragic events 12 years ago. How fresh the events of that morning remain in my heart. I remember the numbing silence as I sat watching the coverage of the first plane hitting the tower and running to tell my husband the news as he was getting ready for work. I stood there, with him, and witnessed the second plane hit the other tower. Stunned…sick at my stomach…with non-stop flowing tears of sadness and fear. The days events continued to unfold with the notification of the Pentagon being hit and the one lone plane still in the sky. The stories of the valiant, and their sacrifices, as the one lone plane was brought down in the quiet and solitary countryside. The first responders and the media coverage of the fear driven masses as they evacuated the areas. These tragic scenes are burned deep into my memory along with every other American…

We Will Never Forget!

Just a moment…just a pause…just remember!

We returned to a new normal with a stronger resolve and spirit…facing the daily challenges with a new outlook and respect. Together we rose as a nation and a people. Thank you for taking this moment with me!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: How I Update Myself

I found myself leaning heavily on my continuous flowing java fountain for a better part of my day. Why? Well…I have been bombarded by a pesky-pop-up message notifying me of the need to back up my iPhone and iPad. In a cruel boasting tone the same message communicated the excessive length of time that had elapsed since the last update. “Before you pass judgement on my lack of skills to press a button please realize that I have followed the directions and failed many times.”

How I Updated Myself!

I jolted my PC with a push of the power button as well as putting fresh batteries in the keyboard and mouse. “It’s Alive!” My 20 year old son, curious in my actions, asked if he could help. Being the sweet son that he tends to be he grabbed my phone. Can you guess what he found? All the apps that I had deleted were connected to “the cloud” and were set to be back up. “No Room!” We, as a tag-team, preceded to delete and update.

SUCCESS!!! My iPhone, iPad and personal computer are backed up and updated. The sad thing it did take a majority of the day! Now I need to fix dinner!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
