Peach State says: Labor Day Weekend Chores
What is Labor Day without a few Labor Day Chores?
Up before the roosters this morning…as usual…while visions of basketballs bounce through two of my son’s dreams. Today is game day in more way than one. After getting hubby off to his daily grind I will lovingly motivate the younger two, as I stir them from their restful slumber, so we can leave about 8:30 for a 9am game. During the time at the church gym I may, or may not, have a practice for the special tomorrow. Once the game is over we will race home for a possible meeting with my Straight-Jacket Award inspirer and a flexible Pre-K teacher friend for VBS Planning. “Yes, I said VBS!” Once completed…it is time for focused viewing of some long-awaited college football. My team’s game is at 7PM tonight so it will be a long day.
[“Laundry moved and commuter-coffee put in hubby’s car!”]
Tomorrow I will get to sleep in a whole 20-30 minutes before preparing for my day of sound checks and time with dear friends at church. Bragging rights for the college football fans will start early with colors and high-fives. The only raising of voices will be during the singing and, of course, preaching portion of the services.”The day will be slower than most Sundays with a church-wide picnic tomorrow night. I hope to attend for a little while…seeings how my hubby would rather stay home! “Maybe I could tell him I am going to pick up dinner!”
Labor Day itself…well we will just have to wait and see how that day unfolds.
“Speaking of unfolds…time to fold the recently-removed-and-still-warm clothes.”
Those of you reading this, who have college teams playing today, I wish you luck…unless your team is playing one of my favorites…(insert evil chuckle)
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Solitary Stairway
These steps asend in a busy historical area of a southern city!
A Solitary Stairway rising from the cobbled riverside.
Ageless shadows of life long ago…oh the tales they could tell! If you listen closely you could hear the whispers of sailors and merchants…even the occasional pirate singing a drunken sea-chant.
How I wish, after the afternoon dilemmas and drama from the boys, to stroll these majestic pathways…in Solitude!
Want to go?

Peach State says: Living With Thing 1 and Thing 2…Squared!
My invisibility cloak is in the shop for repairs…So there is no way I can disappear much less turn off of the pot-hole-ridden road of life! The craziness is multiplying by leaps and bounds and seems to revolve around the youngest member of the family.
Living With Thing 1 And Thing 2…Squared!
The child just does not accept the fact that there are other people living in this house who have timelines not tied to his schedule. So…to bring attention to the situation he tries to manipulate us with his unique-unbridled-ridiculous-insulting-unhelpful-interruptions. Sometimes it is just a hate filled look or a not-so-sudden attack of deafness. “Poor child is also suffering from Early Onset Alzheimer’s…well not really! The path of this twisted twisting cyclone of destruction tries to radiate into all aspects of our little family.
Amazingly this same child receives praises from neighbors/ friends who are around him. He recently stayed with a friend across the street for about 6 hours. She told me of his helpfulness and manners…”I have to admit I was thrilled to hear this!”
Isn’t this always the way…kids are, for the most part, better away from home.
“Phew!” I am so relieved to know he is not deaf! So on top of all of this dramatic roller-coaster with my new teenager I have my “Precious Princess” and her ACL struggles. Now, she weighs about 39 pounds and has to be picked up and carried up and down all of the stairs. I thought my youngest could help…he almost dropped her and I swept in…”That was close!”
My house is at least clean on the main floor now that I am trapped on the main floor. Laundry is all caught up and folded…and stacked waiting to go upstairs when she finally falls asleep. We have solved the problem of medicating her…”I am so glad she likes pie!” The crust has close to the same texture as the pills which means no more scratched or bitten hands…
As for the house work…I am a bit tired and slightly hurting from the picking up and carrying of my “Precious Princess” and wish I had a Fairy God Mother to sweep in and make it all better…whenever I called.
Ding goes the bell…and then another cup of coffee! No amount of coffee seems to help…
“Did someone switch my coffee to decaf?”. I am watching!
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Just A Glorious Day At The Vineyard!
Hidden just beyond a gentle Tennessee mountain pass is a small vineyard founded by country singer Kix Brooks. As you can tell, from the above pic, the sun was cloaked by hanging grey clouds that resembled a checkerboard in color. (Dark and darker..) BUT… I had the extreme joy to share this day with a friend and mutual country music fan. With the ominous threat of soggy-rainy-drizzle we simply prepared ahead of time with ponchos and umbrellas. “We were not going to let a little forecast dampen out outing!”
“Just A Glorious Day At The Vineyard!”
We left early and came home late…
I drove, in less than ideal conditions, surrounded by speeding natives…
The scenery was beautiful…”Glad my passenger and friend took pictures!”
We turned off the interstate and quickly found ourselves surrounded by silent green meadows. One more turn and we were greeted by a wooden giant quietly resting along side of the road.
We were directed to park…inside the gate…which proved to be the absolute best spot compared to the virtual ocean of cars that cascaded into the grassy area across from the main gate of the vineyard shortly after our arriving. We gathered our supplies for the day…
2 coolers (one for dry food and one for cold water and cheesy spreads)
2 comfy collapsing chairs
Oversized ground cover ( big beach towel)
And…Umbrella and ponchos
With straps hung on each of our shoulders we began the trek to find the perfect concert seating. A group of incredibly cordial bikers walked up behind us and a conversation was struck up. The patch-covered leather vest, walking along side of me, reached over and relieved my shoulder of the cooler as this low voice stated “You ladies should not have to carry all that weight!” He then took the one from my friend stunned momentarily at the weight of her cooler. ( ice chest and water bottles) They escorted us to a nice spot and with a few pleasant comments disappeared. “We looked for them the rest of the afternoon in hopes of getting a picture of our “Harley riding Knight” but “alas” they had vanished as quickly as they had appeared.
We then turned our attention to the main building for a bit of wine tasting. Once our names were on the waiting list we wandered the cozy gift store and purchased a couple bottles of the special Harvest Wine. The tasting was delightful…just wish there had been more in the glass!
We bought a couple more bottles…LOL!
We strolled back to our perch for an afternoon of people watching…and may I say it was quite and interesting afternoon with plenty of personality.
Retired military with their wives…
Newlyweds…
Groups of loud, celebrating couples…
Auditioning dance contestants…(inside joke)
Bridal parties…
Our favorite examples of personalities…
An hour before the concert started Kix Brooks strolled out for some time with his fans.
…And I now have a signed bottle of wine.
Concert starts…
We had a wonderful day, along with about 7000 other visitors and fans but, due to the long drive ahead of us and taking the time zone difference into consideration, we left and headed home. “Just A Glorious Day At The Vineyard!”
Hope you enjoyed this little tour!

Peach State says: Technical Difficulties
For some reasons today I have not been able to enjoy a functioning Internet on my iPhone.
I am not happy!
Technical Difficulties!!!
I have sought support from one of my daily sites…nothing works. I guess in the long run it is a good thing…I have gotten a lot accomplished.
Out-of-town guests arriving on Wednesday and I had to clean sometime. Now I am finishing up the dinner prep so my youngest can eat before going to basketball practice.
Have a great one and…

Peach State says: Rain, Rain Stay Away…
The day has finally arrived…everything is packed…car is cleaned out…I am on my way…
“Well in about 25 minutes!”
Rain, Rain, Stay Away…I am going to enjoy myself today!
“I better make sure my rain gear is still in the car.”
These photos are from Arrington Vineyard’s site…guess who will be taking pictures.
Sorry for the short-undetailed post…but I must put my face on! I wouldn’t want to scare anyone.

Peach State says: Country Countdown
I love plot twists…I love being ahead of the rest of the family in figuring out the next twist before it happens. My poor hubby, as wonderful as he is, just isn’t wired the same way. [Cut and Dry!] My hubby has recently tried being more flexible with his time off…allowing us to experience new things together. (Get your mind out of the gutter…before I have to shake my finger in your face!)
Example…day trips, flea markets, wine tasting…you get the idea.
So anyway, I got an email about an event in middle Tennessee. “I have to work!” He said…”Go if you want to go, just go with a friend.” He smirked and I smirked…each one sure the other would fail. The short story is I am going Saturday with a friend.
Let the Country Countdown begin!
We are leaving early Saturday morning and will be back EARLY Sunday morning. When I told my hubby he seemed surprised and then tried tripping me up with another hurdle. “What about the boys?” With a Grinch-like-devious-grin creeping across my face I said…”Already taken care of!”
Soooo…You challenge me and I will do my best to meet and surpass the finish line! Especially if it means traveling to Tennessee for some FREE Country music!
I can’t wait!!!!
