Peach State says: Facebook Funnies With My Coffee

Wow…that kinda says it all! Hehe! Good morning and how is your “sense of humor”?

This has been a very interesting week to say the least…so let’s dive right in!

Hehe…sadly it took my family a few reads…look close!

Rock…Paper…Scissors… You never know when you might need to use it!

Oh…”Canine Computer Class”!

“Poor girl…she probably should have not taken the Summer off!”

(drum roll…) Blog Worthy Award #1:

It is truly wonderful to know that this is all she learned!

I must confess that that same “crazy” may have slipped out of my mouth the other night…

Can I get an “Amen“!

Why do I feel like I am waving my hands in the air saying “pick me!” “Will someone please put me in time-out!”

Straight-Jacket Award:

Because she’s MOM!

We all have a special place in this thing called “Life”!

I know that look!

“Okay…that is much better…Now I have an Administrative ability and am not a “ranting crazy mom”!

Hehe…I love books without batteries.

( drum roll…) Blog Worthy Award #2:

Kinda says it all…

“Remind You of Anyone Award” goes to:

“Sadly..I know that look and saw it the other night!” I need to keep repeating the “Schultz Mantra”!
(That’s another story!)

Well…can you believe how many funnies I had (without cats)…
Don’t worry I will have to share those later!
Except this one…I love this one…”This is my favorite! pic of the week…”

Yep…need more coffee!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Organizing Diva

I have finally reached a point in my day that I reach longingly for my cup of brew.
So much accomplished…”Yea Me!”

I am ready for the next month…school, out of town visitors and replenishing my spices.

I AM AN “Organizing Diva” with calendars printed of and filled in with every event (known to mankind) placed in the appropriate square. I rescheduled a doctor’s appointment, for my youngest, due to a conflict. I have friends, coming in from Europe mid-month, that we have not seen for many years. “I have some cleaning to do before then…but there is time!”

I have a couple more things to do before putting my feet up…but with my cup I will survive!

On I march…
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Just Your Average Run-Of-The-Mill Monday

It is one of those days…
An event filled Monday…is there any other kind?

Just Your Average Run-Of-The-Mill Mondays!

I woke up before my alarm could jerk me from my peaceful slumber…which was way before the butt-crack-of-dawn. I followed the same path taken every morning in true automatic pilot fashion. Once the lattes and breakfast were complete I was off again back up to hubby’s office to enjoy a quiet 55 minutes before he got ready for work.

I planned the day and and shook my head. “Combining trips are essential to my survival!”

*I wrangled the laundry into the washer early this morning and headed back upstairs to pick up after my own laziness.
*I opened the cabinet under my bathroom sink and started throwing things away.
*I took all of the empty coat hangers out of my closet and took them to the laundry room.
*I woke up the huddle masses yearning to sleep just before “Precious Princess'” groomer arrived for a pamper and cut.
*I ran to the bank…to Starbucks (added nutrition of course)…and to the dry-cleaner.

After lunch I am…
*Trying a new method and product to refinish the wood floors in desperate need of help.
*Make a decision about what we will eat for dinner.
*Make dinner.
*Leave for our first Basketball practice of the season.

I have managed to accomplish other errands and chores which I find myself doing everyday as well as connecting with an old friend and making a lunch-date on Monday…back to school celebration!

(Woo Hoo…oh boy…YeeHaw…goody goody…)

Please excuse my momentary celebration!

Well I am off to move the laundry and fold the next load. All in all it has been a great Monday…Wow! Did I just say that?

One last thought…my oldest is an official resident of Dallas, Texas. He left yesterday and arrived safe and sound!

(One Down!…AGAIN!)

Till next time…
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and some really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Over-Extended Taxi Driver

This has been one of the busiest weeks in our family. “Boy…Life does seem simpler without the little interruptions cascading over the previous interruption.” The usual errands mixed with the constant roar from the 20-something’s in the peanut gallery have kept me behind the wheel running here and there. With commuter cup filled to the rim with a supply of coffee I have taken on my semi-full-time position as Taxi-driver. Example:

The oldest was trying to find an apartment…”Mom, can you take me up to the apartment?”
An hour later…”Mom I was denied and walked up the road to another apartment complex…they need my SS# and I don’t have my card…oh and can you take me to the Social Security office 30 miles away to put in my paperwork for a lost card?”

I feel like an Over-Extended Taxi Driver!!!

This continuous driving all-over-creation was mixed in with an already busy morning schedule that started unusually early. My mind has not had to work this fast for a few weeks and I found myself a little out of sorts. The merging of four hectic schedules has kept me between the lines and behind the wheel. But now…two days later I have news about the whole situation.

Breaking News: My oldest son is getting on a Greyhound bus…Sunday afternoon…and moving to Dallas, Texas for a job. He got the call Thursday night from a previous employer who has relocated in the Dallas area and after talking with my son the company sent him a bus ticket to move him out!

The plan, as it stands now, is to take him to the bus station tomorrow about 12 noon and he will depart about 1:00PM. As some of you know…this may change due to my son being the type of person he is. But…my hubby printed off the ticket last night and he said everything seemed in order.

“Between you and me…this move will lift a great load off this little family unit (my oldest included) and there will be less time in the car as well as the added inconvenience of another wacky schedule to work around in an already thriving routine.”

I have been a taxi-driver for many years now but I did something yesterday that I have never done before! As we were driving back down the interstate, for the third time in three hours, I calmly stated in a matter-of-fact-motherly-tone that I would now be collecting gas money! Amidst the usual “What?” and “You’re Kidding!” I was given $21 for gas. It was a good thing…I had 21 miles till empty. My 20 year old has been pretty good about helping out with gas but this topic seemed foreign to my oldest son. Hubby and I have been trying to make things a tad-bit difficult for him in hopes of getting him motivated to grow up and move out.

Could there be light at the end of this long dark tunnel?

I will keep you posted! As for me…I have been ordered to bed for some much needed rest. The irregular routine has knocked me on my proverbial backside and hubby is not liking the results. Number two son is preparing to leave in a few moments and I will set me alarm to wake up in about a hour to face another day of motivating my 20 year old to complete the painting and hopefully get my house back to normal…if what we have can be called normal. ( insert chuckle!) School is starting a week from Monday add to that basketball, TKD and visits with the couch doctor for the youngest. Breathe and take a sip of coffee! I count myself lucky that I only have one in school…my 20 year old is still scheduled to leave sometime in October leaving us with just the 23 year old and the youngest here. “This is going to be a crazy 3 months…I better get my rest when I can!”

Till next time…
“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Facebook Funnies Giggle

The time is drawing near…
Routines and School buses…

We need a party now…or a new car!

Okay…you have to admit you giggled…maybe not milk out of the nose giggle but you did giggle!

I have been busy with hubby today and apologize for not stopping by…I will see you tomorrow!

So I am out of here…and off to practice!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Ageless Progression

This past Saturday I celebrated my ? birthday. You didn’t think I was going to tell you how old young I turned…did you? I was the recipient of many wonderful texts and Facebook wishes…and old fashioned phone calls. The humorous personality was EPIC… and I wanted to share the cards I received from my little group…Peas in a Pod!

Our Mutual Cat Loving Friend…did you already figure that out…yep NINJA CAT!

I was warned, with the next card from one of the husband and wife tag teams, of loss of hearing and eyesight when I get older…”Good thing I am NOT there yet! (Quit pointing that finger as you laugh!)

(Inside in very, very, did I say very small print…)
…so, what did you think of your musical card?
FYI…it was not a musical card giving the recipient a preview of sorts to vision and hearing problems. I did not have any problems reading the cards and laughing at the joke! Good One!

The next card…well, I may have to pass this card to other members of the “POD”… (You have been warned!) This one came from an avid coffee drinker…decaf!

…and included a pop-up!

Question…Why would the card limit you to just a Double-shot?

The BFF tag team gave me a musical card…

I cautiously opened the card, aware that it was musical, to read “…and You’re Hotter Than Ever…” as “Ring of Fire” played. (Gee Thanks… But just so you will know…911 was not called due to the number of lit candles on my cake!)

I want to mention one more…this sender of wishes is known by all of the “Pod” but chooses to serve in another part of our church… She has often participated in reading and contributing to my blog and is the party responsible for the “Straight-Jacket Award” connected with my “Facebook Funnies”…

See What I Mean!

I don’t want to leave my family out of this…

My loving family gave my an inflatable walker! “Bless Their Hearts!

I was asked to check out a bracelet, for the past week, that had been brought in for repairs…but got the news last night…HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It replaces the one that disappeared about a year ago!

Needless to say I was a bit surprised! Hubby also gave me another present about 3 weeks ago…A Tower of speakers…

It is Bluetooth compatible as well as AM/FM. I hope my hubby learns to like all my music!

All in all it was a very “Happy Birthday”! A big, big thank you to all of my well-wishers!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: What’s With All The Ups and Downs?

I have not talked about my Diabetic issues for some time for obvious reasons…”There were no issues!” Everything was fine and dandy. But recently I have noticed an increase in Low Blood Sugar followed by a spike or…a normal level followed by a drastic drop after breakfast.

“What’s With All The Ups And Downs?”

Wednesday morning I go up and my BS level was pretty much normal only to have it fall suddenly to 53 an hour later. This morning…my first level was 100 and then two hours later 60…”Yes-I had breakfast!” Yesterday was not a very good day…similar levels combined with a non-stop-no-time-to-eat schedule. By 2:30 pm I was shaking and woozy! So being the health-freak-chocoholic I am I broke down and bought a Almond Joy“What? It’s dark chocolate and that is good for you!” So the candy bar combined with the snack bowl of cereal at 6:00 am I was feeling a bit out of sorts!

Mutual Cat Loving Friend…put that finger away! Thank you! And Love You Too!

Back to the edge-of-your-seat story…I was finally on my way home when I got redirected by my oldest son and had to drive almost 10 miles up the interstate to drop him off and then back down the interstate towards home!

Did I mention he is supposedly moving out today and tomorrow?

On the final approach to the home front I got a call from a dear friend I had been playing phone-tag with all day. She had a favor to ask and well…”You know me!”…I flew under the radar and began a frantic search for a certain accompaniment track and close a party a friend held for my business, showered and changed quickly as I prepared to high-tail it back out the door within 45 minutes! I finally arrived back home at 7:15 last night and started fixing dinner. FOOD! “Slight confession…I did eat something just before singing!”

The good news is the fact that I have no real plans for today! “Can you believe it?” “Me either!”

I have a few things on the To-Do List but nothing major…”Whew!” I may want to buy a few of those Healthy Almond Joys in case I need one! I could put them in the Emergency Kit! (Insert chuckle!)

So until the next time…
“May you cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: Have Fly Swatter will Travel!

The continuous deluge of rainy weather have finally ceased…leaving us with a new battle of sorts!

Flies, Flies, Flies…all over the place…Did I say Flies?

Have no fear…“Have Fly Swatter Will Travel!”

My family has been smoking/ cooking out, since about Father’s Day, and the invading-swarming-trash-heaps have really interrupted our little piece of the world. The dive-bombing routines convince me that these invaders are also severely ADHD! It seems there is a correlation between “Life-span of a fly” and “ADHD”…you see they exist for such a short period of time they must find a way to see and do everything. After all it is a big world…especially to a fly! You would think that with all those eyes they could take in more of their surroundings…I would just get sick and throw up.

I have to chuckle at the amount of people who have armed themselves with the flimsy-fly-trap-device. They should be made available to visitors so they can assist homeowners in their extermination of the buzzing-pestilence. I remember my mother always had several hanging by the doors for just that reason. “I guess you could use them as a fan of sorts.”

I need to apologize for the grotesque topic…you can relax now and go back to drinking you “Heavenly Brew”. “Ahh…that is so much better!”

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”

Peach State says: No-Bake Recipe

This inspired recipe came from a Publix advertisement. I was checking the sales for the week and saw this delicious cake…and boy-oh-boy (Danny) it be great with a cup of my “Heavenly Brew”.
“OOO…that looks good and the price is right! I think I will pick one up for the holidays!”

I mentioned this story, in passing, during the Fourth Of July holiday. When I went to purchase this “tower of yummy-ness” the bakery personnel informed me it was made by order. I was slightly miffed when to my wonderful good-fortune the other baker preceded to explain the ingredients in the cake.

Yellow Cake
Publix Apple Butter
Powdered Sugar

“That’s it!” I graciously turned down the offer to order one of my own…and turned around a grabbed a Pound Cake. So are you sitting down? Here is the “No-Bake Recipe”:

Knowing I had Apple Butter already at the house I grabbed the freshly made Pound Cake (which was on sale for $2.99) along with other items needed for our cookout.
Once home:

I sliced the cake into four layers
I spread the Apple Butter between each layer
Once complete I used a Cinnamon-Sugar Blend ( in a grinder) on the top.
I placed it in the refrigerator.

This is the result…

This is the cake I sliced and took with me to the holiday gathering with the Peas in a Pod…it was a HIT!

The next time I make this cake I will use more Apple Butter! I was thrilled, however, to hear many yummy cheers about this cake. It is a very refreshing recipe and like you may have noticed…EASY! I may try the powdered sugar on the next one…just for effect!

I also made a “Boston Creme Cake” for my son’s birthday that same week…
I kinda cheated my way through this recipe. I did make a Butter Cake for this one but then used
pre-made vanilla pudding and spread it between the two layers. (I only used two of the little pudding cups so that the cake would not slide!) I then covered and placed the cake in the fridge. Just before serving I heated some store-bought-chocolate-icing and poured it over the top…“Ta-Da!”

The family liked it as well…

Sometimes we need little short-cuts to give us time for the more important people and things in our life. Don’t you agree? Let me know what you think about these recipes…I hope you like them!

“May your cup runneth over with joy, love and laughter oh, and really fabulous coffee!”
