Peach State says: Mom Versus The Spider!!

NOT IN MY HOUSE!! Not to mention I had not had the pleasure of one single sip of coffee!

I had taken coffee and breakfast upstairs for my hubby and had come back downstairs to let my “Precious Princess” out for her morning tour of the grounds. It was just like any other morning!
I escorted “Precious Princess” back inside for her treat and walked though the dining room. As I turned around to check on my four-legged-shadow I saw it…the ugly beast ready to pounce at any given time!

Mom Versus The Spider!!

I immediately jumped into action…as I quickly reached my weapon of choice. “My son’s shoes!”
I tossed one of the shoes on top of the hideous creature and it quickly scampered barely being missed by the oversized shoe. “Crud…it is alive!” With the second shoe in hand I placed it firmly on top of the eight-legged-crawly-demon with a deliberate whack. The legs were curled up and it was barely moving…sooo…I whacked it again and grabbed several paper towels. I scooped up the grotesque mass and ran quickly to the front door. I stepped out on the front porch and tossed the whole thing…paper towel and all onto the ground.

With a stay out of my house mentality I quickly shut the door and continued upstairs. I shared the Epic Battle with my hubby only to hear him chuckle at my visibly shaking hands.
What? I Hate Spiders!”

Have a great day!

About justbetweencousins

We are first cousins who live farther apart from each other than we would like. We thought this blog would give us a chance to visit with each other as well as maybe share a few insights about life. We are both middle aged and until recently both of us had kids the same age (nearly grown). But then the Peach State cuz adopted a son, so she has four now. Heart of Dixie cuz has two daughters. We have a couple of things which are prominently in common (although I'm sure there are actually more): We vacation at our Mema's beach house in Panama City Beach, Florida - until recently, we did so with all of our kids. We both sing - although Heart of Dixie cuz is not currently singing anywhere right now. We both write. We are both Christians, although Peach State cuz is Baptist, and Heart of Dixie is currently floating about between the Anglican church, the Methodist church, and the Episcopalian church. Long story.

  1. Not a fan of spiders myself! So how blessed am I that The Mighty Hunter (my male cat, who can’t decide between being my provider as The Mighty Hunter, or my baby boy who needs his mommy) sometimes brings me a spider as a treat. He tries not to kill it, just hurt it enough so that it can’t get away. That way it is fresh when I find it. I have to pick it up with a couple of paper towels folded over a gazillion times, and pretend to eat it. Of course, as soon as I pick it up, I put it out of it’s misery. After pretending to eat it, I toss it and the paper towels in the trash while praising the cat for bringing me such a yummy treat! He puffs up so proudly! He brought me a snake only once…thankfully!
